Video Game Orchestra,

In may 2008 Video Game Orchestra was formed by Shota Nakama and its first concert was held at a small venue in the center of Boston, and the mere 27-piece ensemble packed the house. Following this success, the second concert featured a more complete rockestral set up, multiplying the size of the audience. In April 2011, VGO had its debut at the legendary classical concert venue, Boston Symphony Hall.. In October 2012, Video Game Orchestra returned to Symphony Hall. The concert, “Live at Symphony Hall,” primarily featured the works of four great composers from the east, Hitoshi Sakimoto, Yoko Shimomura, Noriyuki Iwadare, etc. At the end of 2012, VGO conducted its first tour in China, visiting four cities and drawing over 10,000 fans. VGO was personally appointed by Masashi Hamauzu, the renowned composer of the Final Fantasy series, to record the actual soundtrack for the last saga of the FF13 trilogy, LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII. Then, shortly after the launch of its recording division Soundtrec Boston, VGO worked on the soundtrack of another enormously popular franchise, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX.
